Kate Garraway and her family celebrated Earth Day by planting a magnolia tree in their yard over the weekend.
Kate, 55, stated that she’d been tending to plants with the grandfather of her two children when the entire family arrived out of nowhere.
Fans of the Good Morning Britain host were delighted by the joyful family photos she shared on social media, but they were especially pleased to see Kate’s husband Derek Draper, with whom she posed for a picture.
Kate has been caring for Derek, now 55, since he had a serious bout of coronavirus in 2020, but people were quick to notice how great he looked.
His and Kate’s two children, Billie and Darcy, were also seen gardening in the backdrop of Kate’s post, together with their grandfather.
Kate penned: ‘Funny how it was just grandad & I for the digging & planting & then suddenly everyone appears when up!’
The doting mum added: ‘Crowning a very special weekend with the Drapers (Aunty Sue & grandma you are here in spirit) by planting a magnolia tree for #earthday. Happy Sunday everyone.’
Her social media followers were quick to rave about Derek, with one person writing: ‘I know it may not be the case but Derek looks really well,’ and another echoing ‘Derek is looking well so good to see.’
Other similar remarks included: ‘Derek looks well good to see’ and ‘Awww Derek looks really well.’
The family spent the day in the garden over a week after being serenaded by none other than Sir Elton John at his London gig on Monday.
Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me was dedicated to Kate and her family by Sir Elton, 76, and footage of the emotional event was shown on GMB earlier this week.
‘We managed to get Derek to see Elton play, and that was Elton’s goal because he’s been so supportive throughout.’ Kate stated to GMB viewers on Wednesday morning.
‘So, we went along, we made it happen.’
She added: ‘So that was enough, we were crying from the second we walked in to the 02. Then completely surreally, this happened.’
Sir Elton then appeared on stage this Wednesday, and he told the audience, ‘The two individuals who I’m so happy that are here, because they’ve gone through hell over the last three or four years, are Kate Garraway and Derek and the kids.’
Sir Elton added: ‘To say that they’ve been through a lot is an understatement of huge proportions.
‘They’ve been inspiring and they’ve never given up. I want to dedicate this song especially to you guys.’
