Kerry Katona, has spoken up about needing to have corrective surgery after a belly tuck went awry last year.
The Atomic Kitten singer detailed in her book memoir, Kerry Katona: Whole Again, how she moved house instead of resting and allowing the operation to heal. The procedure, she claims, was the “worst thing” she’s ever done.
Now, the 42-year-old reality star is taking a month off from work to make amends. ‘It’s all my fault,’ she says. It wasn’t a sloppy job or anything of the sort. I didn’t give my body time to recuperate.’
But Kerry’s ordeal hasn’t put her off cosmetic surgery, as she is planning on getting an eyelid lift, albeit with a different surgeon, Pall Mall Cosmetics – the same company that are also fixing her tummy tuck, according to OK! Magazine.

Kerry, who is a mum of five, has been on a journey with her body, having previously described herself as a ‘swollen beach whale’ to the publication earlier this year, before admitting that ‘as much as I champion people to be comfortable in their own skin, I know it can be hard’.
Tummy tucks are performed for a variety of reasons, including after childbirth or weight loss, to eliminate excess skin and change or ‘enhance’ the shape of the abdomen. It is not a weight-loss treatment, and it is not offered on the NHS, but an abdominoplasty (its formal term) costs roughly £4,500 to £6,000 in the UK.
According to Medical Accident Group research, 65% of those who have cosmetic surgery regret it, while nearly one-third (28%) are quite delighted with the outcomes.
Kerry’s attitude regarding her body is shifting, despite the belly tucks.
Speaking to the magazine, she says that although she’s put on a ‘s**tload of weight’ she isn’t fazed by it.
‘That’s normal and I am just embracing it,’ she said. ‘I feel content and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I hope this book shows people you can overcome anything.’
