Louise Thompson has opened up about gaining weight while being on anti-depressants.
The Made In Chelsea star, who has spoken candidly about her life on social media, shared a new update amid her life.
Sharing a photo of her stomach on her Instagram Stories, Louise wrote: ‘I’ve put on some weight over the past two months. When you take steroids you might put on weight because your appetite increases.
‘This is also the case for a couple of the anti-depressants I’ve been on (with the exception of Escitalopram). The one I’m currently taking definitely makes me more hungry, especially when I feel surges of serotonin.
‘It’s like I immediately crave sugar and run to the fridge.’
Louise added that the shakes she takes for her ulcerative colitis can also cause weight gain, and explained that, having noticed why she’s putting on more weight, she would like to safely make a lifestyle change in not just drinking the shakes out of habit.
Ulcerative colitis is a long-term condition where the colon and rectum become inflamed.
The reality star, who welcomed her baby son Leo with fiance Ryan Libbey last year, has been candid with her fans about the struggles she’s faced since the traumatic birth.
Recently, she updated fans on her battle with PTSD.
Speaking after being admitted to hospital again, Louise, 32, said her brain had ‘basically shut down’ and she had experienced panic attacks ‘back to back’ during her toughest moments.
In a video posted to Instagram, she spoke candidly about her experiences over the past few months but reassured viewers also struggling that they were ‘not alone,’ and that she wanted to ‘give them hope’.
She later shared that following a panic attack on Tuesday morning she endured an hour of ‘partial blindness’.
Louise said in another Instagram Story: ‘I’ve learnt to become very good at masking emotions to protect those around me.’
