Amber Gill, who is dating footballer Jen Beattie, has admitted that she is’still working out’ her sexuality.
Since they were seen on a date at Winter Wonderland in December, the 2019 Love Island winner, 25, has been connected to the Arsenal player, 31.
Amber looked to affirm their relationship on Valentine’s Day, before the pair made social media formal, with the influencer and author adorably labelling Jen her “better half.”
They eventually made their red carpet premiere in March at Radio 1’s Big Weekend Launch Party, and Amber has now revealed more about their relationship.
In a new interview, Amber confirmed that things were going’very well’ between them and admitted that she was hesitant to label her sexuality when questioned about feeling curious in the past.
‘I’m still figuring that out – whether I did or I didn’t, I just know there was a certain point where I was like, “I want to pursue serious relationships with women,”’ she told OK! magazine.
The romance author added: ‘I’m still figuring it all out, so I might do some sort of TV or documentary around that, because I think it is important for someone to have a story of someone coming out late as well.’
She also admitted that she thought people were surprised to see her ‘coming from a programme that I came from,’ and that it took ‘a little while for people to get used to’.
When questioned if she planned to settle down and have children, Amber said she wasn’t positive, but she was happy with where she and Jen were now.
‘I’ve no idea. I still feel like I’m super young. I just enjoy what I do now – I’m having fun, I’m in a good relationship and that’s all I care about,’ she clarified.
Last August, the star tweeted about’switching teams,’ labelling it ‘the greatest choice’ she had ever made as she criticised the crop of males on the 2022 Love Island season.
However, in the wake of the outpouring of support online, Amber stated that the tweets were “light-hearted” and that she would address her sexuality when she was “ready.”
She also stated at the time that what she wrote was “true” and that she “meant exactly what I said.”
Amber won Love Island with rugby union star Greg O’Shea, defeating favourite Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague in the final.
