Following a number of suspicions of adultery, Love Island‘s Paige Thorne revealed the actual reason she ended things with Adam Collard and why they are no longer together.
The two people got involved during the production of ITV’s Love Island, and they dated for about “two months” before she texted him to break up with him and end their relationship.
The former islander, 24, was responding to a query that caused her to explain what really happened on with her ex-boyfriend and two-time resident of the villa Adam, 27, as she was chatting with her 1.5 million followers on Instagram. Adam was a former resident of both the island and the villa.
It has been alleged that Paige and Adam were divorced just a few months after leaving the programme together in response to the appearance of tape that captured the personal trainer holding hands with another lady while they were both at a McDonald’s.
The brunette beauty, who stated that she did not want to “shame him,” disclosed that the celebrity had a difficult time dealing with things when the news of the end of their relationship became public. She claimed that she did not want to “bash him.”
When asked by The Sun at the time, Adam agreed that he had done something wrong when he placed his arms around another girl, but he claimed that “it was all misconstrued.”
She continued on to tell the full story of why she decided to end things with Adam.
‘Obviously, everyone was aware of all the videos and pictures coming out of him and his arms around other girls in nightclubs and whatever on his PAs,’ she said.
Paige then said she was willing to ‘put them behind [her] and move on’ but further footage landing in her DMs was too much for the paramedic to overlook.
‘I was getting sent more videos of him on nights out that didn’t go viral and that were just really shady and I wasn’t comfortable in it,’ she explained.
The fourth-place winner confirmed it wasn’t the type of relationship she wanted to be a part of: ‘I want to be 100% certain my guy is only about me and isn’t accessible to anybody else.’
When it came down to it, she said that it wasn’t something that the two of them could agree on, and as Adam moved from the UK to Bali, their communication decreased to the point that Paige was forced to make a choice about their future together.
She said: ‘I just text him and was like this is dumb, this isn’t working, we’re not even talking whilst you’re on holiday.
‘It’s clear that something has shifted between us so let’s just call it a day.’
The former boyfriend of the paramedic disclosed that he did not make any efforts to fight for their relationship, and he acknowledged that it was evident that they were not going to be able to fix anything.
At the conclusion of the update, Paige emphasised that there was “no bad blood” between the exes and that they both continue to be happy, despite the fact that they are now leading separate lives.
