Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling appear to be great for their roles as Barbie and Ken in the upcoming pink-tastic movie Barbie, but we’re a bit worried.
The 33-year-old Australian actress has recently been spotted wearing just pink.
A lovely shade, but we hope there’s no terrible method acting going on that will render the celebrity plastic or anything.
But, to be honest, we’re not worried about Margot when compared to the 42-year-old Drive actor’s passion to his role.
First, Ryan developed the term “kenergy,” which sparked conversation about Barbie’s sidekick Ken, who is, let’s face it, a klutz.
He even became protective over his cherished character when someone pointed out that he was too old for the role (how dare they!).

he’s so ken it goes beyond method acting it’s just a role he was born to play https://t.co/gf9723remT

In a cover interview with GQ, he said: ‘If you ever really cared about Ken, you would know that nobody cared about Ken. So your hypocrisy is exposed. This is why his story must be told.’
Recently, Ryan joked about kenergy being a mystery power, similar to WiFi, that may be impacting the bees. Okay, OK.
But things are getting crazier, as it appears Ryan – famed for his smooth performances in films like The Notebook, A Place Beyond The Pines, and La La Land (to name a few) – is now afflicted with kenergy in real life.
That’s correct, in a recent Instagram promotional video featuring Margot and Ryan, Ken appears to possess the actress for a few moments.
‘Don’t make me look bad in front of the Americans,’ the Canadian actor said, pointing to Margot, who is – er – Australian.

‘I’m not American!’ Margot said, as the couple burst out laughing.
One Twitter user responded on the video, saying, ‘he’s so ken it goes beyond method acting it’s just a character he was born to portray.’ [sic]
Another Ryan supporter said, ‘And you guys had the AUDACITY to claim he wasn’t suited for Ken.’
‘This is beyond method acting,’ someone else said emphatically. Ryan Gosling is the real deal, Ken.’
Will Ferrell, America Ferrera from Ugly Betty, Kate McKinnon from SNL, Simu Liu from Marvel, Issa Rae from Insecure, Ncuti Gatwa from Doctor Who, and Emma Mackey are among the other notable faces expected to appear in the film.
Ryan will be singing some melodies (yeah, thrilling) with Ava Max, Charli XCX, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, Fifty Fifty, Gayle, Haim, Ice Spice, Kali, Karol G, Khalid, Lizzo (! ), Nicki Minaj, Pink Pantheress, Tame Impala, and The Kid Laroi on the soundtrack.
Barbie will be in UK cinemas on July 21.
