Britt Bowman, a live-music photographer and Christopher Mintz-girlfriend Plasse’s of more than five years, is scheduled to become his wife. Christopher Mintz-Plasse is better known as simply McLovin throughout the majority of the world.
Thursday was the day that Christopher broke the news to the public via social media, captioning a photo of Bowman showing off her engagement ring with the comment, “Life’s over!”
(Disclaimer: although many of us will have a difficult time accepting that Christopher is not actually an underage dork with a penchant for suede vests and sketchy fake IDs, it should be known that the Superbad star is merely an actor with a whole life of his own outside of the cult coming-of-age comedy.)
Since June of 2017, the 33-year-old actor has been dating Britt, and in a recent social media post, Britt revealed that her future husband had actually proposed to her on Christmas Eve. The couple has been dating since June of 2017.
Alongside a series of loved-up snaps of herself, her new fiance and a handful of their loved ones, Britt wrote: ‘Mintz-Plasse did a thing 12.24.2002.’
Christopher also dedicated an Instagram post to the news, and in one snap, the actor could be seen getting down on one knee for a practice proposal with Hilary Duff’s husband, Matthew Koma.
Matthew, 35, joked beneath his pal’s post: ‘I can’t wait to spend the rest of your life together.’
Christopher was actually one of the people who married pop icon and actress Hilary and Matthew back in 2019 and is best pals with the latter.
A handful of other famous faces were quick to congratulate the comedy actor, with Alison Brie penning: ‘Awwww congrats!’ while Mandy Moore wrote: ‘Congrats!’
Christopher occasionally dedicates social media posts to Britt, marking her birthday in August by joking: ‘HBD2MGFIAHQ (Happy birthday to my girlfriend I am her queen).’

Writing back in 2018, Christopher called his partner ‘literally the kindest person I’ve ever met’, adding: ‘Thanks for taking care of me, and making my house a home. Please don’t go on tour again because I’m a mess when you’re gone, but that’s besides the point. Love you a s’much.’
While Christopher is notoriously private when it comes to fame, he did reveal last year that becoming a celebrity when he was still just a teenager took a toll on his mental health.
Of his Superbad gig, he told PageSix: ‘It was very tough to be a nobody one minute and then, literally, two days after the movie came out, it was me getting recognised everywhere.
‘It was very alarming, it was very intense. There was a lot of anxiety, a lot of breakdowns, but I had a great support system of friends and family, a great agent and manager to help me guide a career that I wanted — but it was intense.’
He also added that it was ‘very alarming for a 17-year-old person’ to become pretty much a household name overnight.
‘I was trying to figure out who I was as a human being at the time and then to have millions of people knowing you as McLovin was very intense.’
He said it was ‘zero to 100 very fast’, adding that he was ‘barely out of high school’, when the hit film was released.
However, it’s not all bad, as he said he was thankful for the number of further roles he was offered following his stint as McLovin.
