Although Paul Rudd has one of the most famous faces on the globe, it turns out that his children were unaware of his celebrity.
With wife Julie Yaeger, whom he married in 2003, he has a son, Jack, 17, and a daughter, Darby, 13.
The pair has made it a point to keep their family life strictly private.
In a recent interview before of the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the 53-year-old discussed his career thus far, as well as what his children think of his appearance on our screens.
‘When my kids were very young – I’m not going to sit my kids down when they’re 3 and say, “You know, I’ve got some DVDs to show you,”’ he explained. ‘I didn’t really explain what I did.’
He recounted a day when his kid was considerably younger and they were to the movies with his buddies when they came upon a poster for one of his flicks.
‘We were all going, and there was a movie poster that I was on that was in the lobby,’ he continued in a clip from Sunday Today, via People Magazine.
‘So they all just thought that I worked at the movie theater, which I thought was very cute.
‘And then, a few years later, I think when he was 15, he finally put it all together.’
‘I never corrected him,’ he added, joking that he would say: ‘I work at the AMC Lowes.’

Paul has appeared in films such as Romeo + Juliet, Clueless, Knocked Up, Anchorman, and Friends, where he played Phoebe Buffay’s partner, Mike Hannigan.
He hasn’t aged a day in all of that time.
He made his Marvel debut as Ant-Man in 2015, and has since appeared in the Avengers as well as heading his own superhero films.
In an honest interview with People, he stated that his children “don’t care” about his Marvel credentials.
‘I think I’m father more than Ant-Man or in the MCU,’ he declared.
‘They don’t care, and they shouldn’t.’
