Piers Morgan shared a star-studded selfie from Hollywood on Monday night, while enjoying the company – and views – of some of his British friends.
The outspoken journalist went to Twitter to share a group picture with Gary Lineker, Amanda Holden, and Bruno Tonioli while out on the town.
The 58-year-old looked to be relaxing by the pool with his pals after taking a two-week break from hosting his weeknight TalkTV programme Uncensored to honour his birthday.
‘Midnight in Hollywood, and opinions are flying! @BrunoTonioli @GaryLineker @AmandaHolden @Sunset_Tower,’ he captioned the photo, which showed Piers in a navy open-neck shirt with Amanda beaming while under his arm and Gary and Bruno smiling in the background.
The tag indicated that the group was spending the night at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, as is customary after Piers’ high-profile interview with adult actress Stormy Daniels was postponed due to’security concerns’ following former President Donald Trump’s arrest.
Amanda, 52, and Piers are former co-stars on Britain’s Got Talent, with Amanda acting as the show’s longest-serving judge alongside show founder Simon Cowell.
Piers joined them for the first four episodes beginning in 2007, after making his début on sister programme America’s Got Talent, where he remained for six seasons until 2011.
Meanwhile, Bruno is no novice to the US, having served as a judge on Dancing with the Stars since the show’s inception in 2005.
After leaving Strictly Come Dancing in the UK after 16 years as a judge, he has now joined the BGT family as a judge alongside Amada, Simon, and Alesha Dixon, with accounts from the audition rounds seeming to ensure he will bring his usual brand of chaotic energy.
However, we will have to wait until May for the newest season to air before we can see for ourselves.
After ten series, Bruno succeeded long-serving and popular judge David Walliams, who was caught on tape making disparaging remarks about individuals applying for the reality talent show.
Will you be tuning in to the forthcoming season of Britain’s Got Talent? Now is the time to comment.
Piers and Gary are also friends, with the former recently coming to Gary’s support following his temporary removal from Match of the Day following remarks he made comparing Government policy to Nazi Germany in the 1930s.
Morgan tweeted in response at the time: ‘WTF? How pathetically spineless.. I now demand the BBC suspend every presenter who has made public comment about news or current affairs – starting with Sir David Attenborough and Lord Sugar.’
He then added: ‘Gary Lineker should tell the BBC to go f**k themselves, as I told ITV to over the Markle debacle. Free speech is the cornerstone of democracy – the moment Britons agree to be told what we’re allowed to say or think, democracy dies.’
The pundit was later restored, and the BBC apologised for its treatment of the retired player.
