Paul Rudd and Olivia Colman have a long history of friendship, which resulted in a hilariously beautiful scene on BBC Radio 1 this week.
During Friday’s Breakfast Show, the Marvel star joined presenter Greg James for a witty Agony Ant-Man segment in which he attempted to solve listeners’ issues.
Things took an awkward and hilarious turn when a ‘Welsh’ woman dialed in, revealing that she’s a ‘big fan’ of the actor and ‘wanted to pick [his] brains’.
The caller asked: ‘What would you do if you had a really, like a really good mate, like for over 20 years like, and then this friend, yeah, he doesn’t live in England, but he’s come to England but he hasn’t told you about it?
‘Then, not only has he not told you about it, he’s come on to a radio show. What would you do?’
The 53-year-old star appeared nervous as he mumbled, ‘Oh my God. Oh no’, before the woman asked if he would be ‘offended’.

Trying to dig himself out of a potential hole, he awkwardly replied: ‘Personally, if it’s me? Absolutely not. I tend to give everybody the benefit of the doubt.’
He laughed as he repeatedly said ‘oh god’, before Greg decided to put Paul out of his misery and revealed the caller was actually Olivia.
‘You really can do every accent,’ he said as he awkwardly laughed and the host asked the pair about their ‘glorious friendship. ‘We really go back.’
Olivia, 49, chipped in: ‘Over 20 years! We were doing a paly together and Paul used to come and stay on the floor of our rubbish flat in south London and come for Sunday lunch and things. Paul was properly in the play, and I had about two lines I think.’
In an ingenious twist, the prank was also her idea; she learned Paul was going to be on the show and wanted to have some fun at her friend’s expense.
‘I was listening to the Breakfast programme like I normally do because I adore you, Greg James,’ she stated. I heard Paul Rudd was joining the cast of Agony Ant-Man.
‘I went “WHAT?!” So I emailed Greg and asked, “would it be alright to do a prank on Paul?” And he said, “Hell yeah!” ‘
Those are definitely friendship objectives, and maybe they’ll find time to catch up while Paul is here.
