Megan McKenna, a reality personality, has disclosed that she is currently in the hospital after complications from a recent stomach treatment.
The 31-year-old TV personality and singer, who first featured on Ex On the Beach in 2015, underwent a’small’ procedure earlier this month and originally left the hospital feeling good.
However, after returning home, the Towie star began to experience agony and was brought back to the hospital to have her symptoms evaluated.
Megan, who announced she had celiac disease in 2016, shared the news with her three million Instagram followers, who wished her luck in her recovery.
The X Factor: Celebrity winner wrote: ‘Hello, I know I told you all I was recovering last week, I had a small procedure in my belly last Monday which has led some complications inside.’
Adding that it was ‘very painful and so uncomfortable to move’, she said she started experiencing pain three days after the operation was completed.
‘It got worse Thursday, was admitted to hospital Friday. All the nurses are so lovely So I’m in good hands. Miss cooking my dinners and sharing with you all.’
Megan has been sharing her culinary adventures with her Instagram followers for a while now, frequently sharing recipes and meal plans from her own kitchen.
She concluded her statement: ‘Just need some good energy put out for me please so I can be better to put up my tree and cook cute winter dinners.’
Megan did not specify the details of the stomach surgery, although she has previously disclosed diagnoses of celiac disease and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Coeliac disease is an autoimmune illness that mostly affects the small bowel and can cause wheat and gluten intolerance, but it can also cause psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and IBS.
This new event follows Megan’s recent revelation that she suffered horrible burns as a result of a ‘freak accident’ with gravy.
Tanya, Megan’s mother, tripped over the family dog while carrying a gravy boat, causing the liquid to fly and land on Megan’s head.
The incident left the country music singer’s face swollen and burned, but she reassured her fans that her rehabilitation was progressing well.
Overall, despite a recent run of bad luck, Megan and her husband, Birmingham City footballer Oliver Burke, have had a pleasant year.
The couple got engaged in June of this year after having a lovely boat ride that ended with Oliver going down on one knee and proposing to Megan.
