Rebel Wilson revealed that her first surrogate miscarried before she became pregnant with Royce.
The 42-year-old actress spoke out about her road to parenthood, explaining that it wasn’t always easy.
When she revealed the conclusion of her first surrogacy effort, the singer acknowledged it was’really heartbreaking’ to grieve the loss of something she had gotten so thrilled about.
‘I attempted to have the kid with one surrogate, but the embryo miscarried, which is incredibly disappointing…
It was incredibly terrible because you get so thrilled when it takes,’ Rebel said in an interview on Wednesday.
‘I was mourning at the time, but then to have a second embryo, it was amazing,’ she told the presenters of the podcast The Pick Up with Britt, Laura, and Mitch.
The Pitch Perfect actress – who first made her relationship with her partner Ramona Agruma public in June 2022 – went on to call her baby daughter as a ‘miracle’.

Rebel said: ‘I really do think it’s a bit of a miracle it happened. I’d been through quite a bit on the fertility journey for a few years but I was like, “Wow.”
‘Now I look at it and I have a family, I have an instant family kind of thing and little Roycey is amazing, she is such a little angel.’
Speaking of her daughter, Royce, whom the renowned face welcomed in November, the new mother anticipated that Royce will have a career in showbiz in the future.
‘She’s so cute. She’s smiling, it’s her new trick, and she makes noises,’ Rebel shared.

Continuing on, she explained: ‘I really think she’s going to be a singer or something. I played her the Pitch Perfect soundtrack and she loves it.
‘I’m already making jokes that I’m going to put her on some Nickelodeon show.’
The highly acclaimed actress also discussed the difficulties of parenthood and what she believes it has taught her thus far.
Rebel admitted: ‘It’s so hard. I think maybe you’re a little bit disconnected having the surrogate and not going through the pregnancy but that was my best option medically when I only had the one embryo left so I was like I’m gonna go with what they say is the highest percentage rate of success.
‘Motherhood is so hard, I have so much respect for all the mums out there.’
