
Michael Flatley announced that he has been freed from the hospital and is “on the mend” after being diagnosed with cancer.
The Riverdance veteran, 64, recently received therapy for the ailment and was being looked after by a ‘amazing team of experts’.
A statement shared on social media confirmed the news. It read: ‘Dear friends, we have something personal to share, Michael Flatley has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.
‘He has undergone surgery and is in the care of an excellent team of doctors. No further comments will be made at this time. We ask only for your prayers and well wishes. Thank you. 🙏🏻 Teamlord’
The Irish dancer praised followers for their continued support in his most recent Instagram post, which featured a photo of himself in full spirit.
‘Thank you to everyone around the world for your love and prayers,’ he wrote.

Many fans were overjoyed by the update, with one writing: ‘Oh Michael, these are exactly the news I’ve been (and I believe everyone else) waiting since last week Tuesday.

Flatley rose to prominence as a dancer in the Irish musical Riverdance, which was initially performed as a break in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994. He went on to construct the well-known stage play Lord Of The Dance.
He has performed for over 60 million people in 60 countries throughout the years.
In addition to his dancing profession, the star has dabbled in filmmaking. In 2019, he created, directed, financed, and performed in Blackbird, a spy film set in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Barbados.
