Will Mellor has said that he lived behind Liam Gallagher’s London home, adding that while their relationship began nicely, the former Oasis frontman eventually ghosted Will.
Why is this so? That would be Will’s preferred football team.
The Hollyoaks star stated on Wednesday that after Liam discovered he was a Manchester United supporter, he ‘never spoke to him again’.
Will, 46, remembers stepping out onto his back porch during a Man United victory and saw Liam.
Will assumed the musician would be delighted with the score because they are both from the Manchester region and replied, ‘We’re doing alright, aren’t we?’ Those were the last five things he ever said to City supporter Liam.
Speaking to Jackie Brambles on Greatest Hits Radio, the actor explained in full: ‘I used to rent a flat in London when I was working there, and my flat backed on to Liam Gallagher’s garden.

‘When I first moved in, he came round on a BMX and went, “Alright? Welcome to the area” – the only northerners around!’
Will went on: ‘One day I was watching Man United on the telly and at half time we were winning, so I came out and stood on my back porch as Liam was in his garden, and shouted: “We’re doing alright, aren’t we?”
‘He went: “What?! Are you a Red?”, I said yes, and he just gave me the two-finger wave, walked back into his house and never spoke to me again. Not quite as neighbourly once he realised I was a United fan!’

Will previously stated that he lost so much weight while competing on Strictly Come Dancing that his watch no longer fit him.
The Coronation Street star almost missed out on a spot in last year’s final, but he stated that despite the difficulties, the experience had a positive impact on him.
Appearing on Monday’s episode of This Morning, he said: ‘Strictly was mentally and physically the fittest I’ve been in a long time… It was great for me!
‘My watch didn’t fit me! I didn’t know I had chunky wrists but I do! I lost weight everywhere.’
Will said that the emotional event, which occurred after his father died in 2020 after a brief cancer struggle, was the ‘hardest’ career challenge he’d undertaken to date.
‘I think it’s definitely the most difficult thing I’ve ever done in terms of work, just because of how time-consuming it is. ‘You’re in this bubble, and once you enter it, you don’t leave it until you leave the performance,’ he stated.
‘The one day off, all you’ll think about is, you’re resting yourself, you’re icing your knees, thinking about starting again tomorrow.’
We can’t wait to see him busting moves again on the dancefloor for the forthcoming Strictly Live tour with his professional partner Nancy Xu.
