Following allegations of the couple’s separation, Britney Spears‘ husband Sam Asghari has allegedly filed for divorce.
After meeting on the filming of the singer’s Slumber Party music video in 2016, the two became close, with Sam, 29, standing by her side throughout her conservatorship struggle.
They married in a star-studded ceremony last year, but have now apparently split up, with Sam reportedly filing for divorce barely 14 months later.
A person close to the model, actress, and dancer who was not permitted to talk publicly confirmed the filing to the Associated Press late Wednesday.
It came hours after multiple US outlets including TMZ first reported the duo’s apparent split, although the publication could not identify court records in Los Angeles or Ventura counties to confirm the move.
Britney and Sam have yet to officially address rumours of their separation or divorce.
After getting engaged in September, the pair married on June 9 at Britney’s Thousand Oaks home in front of a celebrity-packed guest list that included Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez, and Madonna.
Sam recently marked their milestone first anniversary on Instagram with a photo showing off their wedding rings, alongside the message: ‘Happy 1 year to me & my better half.’
He also uploaded a video montage of their big day, with the caption: ‘One year married to the woman of my dreams.
‘Happy anniversary my love.’
However, things have reportedly turned sour since, with TMZ reporting that insiders claimed they had a string of arguments concerning allegations of cheating, with Sam moving out.
According to the source, he confronted the mother of two last week about allegations of infidelity.
According to the insider, Sam believed the accusations, which sparked a major dispute; he is understood to have left their house and is now living on his own.
Britney has said on Instagram that she is ‘purchasing a horse soon’ following allegations of their marital problems.

In her Instagram post, Britney wrote: ‘Buying a horse soon! So many options it’s kinda hard!
‘I can’t make up my mind. Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on?’
