Selena Gomez has admitted to getting Botox because a fan chastised her over her Benny Blanco affair.
The Only Murders In The Building actor, 31, surprised fans this week by revealing she and the 35-year-old music producer had been dating for six months.
Then, in an unexpected twist, she took on social media just hours later with a huge dazzling ring on that finger. Yikes!
Since the singer’s relationship status change, she’s received some backlash from fans who have criticised her choice of partner, accusing Benny of’shading’ her in the past.
‘Lol yeah and he’s still better than anyone I’ve ever been with. Facts,’ she replied.
She added: ‘He has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me.’
‘He is my absolute everything in my heart,’ she wrote under a post on fan page @Selenagomezbr2.0.
When one of her followers wrote a particularly cutting comment, ‘Remove your cheek fillers/implants. It’s messing with your brain,’ Selena then replied: ‘Hahahaha I’ve had Botox bb girl.’
Some Selena followers believe the alleged’shading’ took place in 2020, when Blanco gave an interview to promote his and Justin Beiber’s song Lonely.
Of course, Justin and Selena used to be in a relationship, but they had been apart for two years at this time.
In this interview, some fans reckon Benny fired shots at Selena when he said: ‘Justin is not one of those, like, cookie-cutter pop artists. Like you know, they’re like, “This is my new single and here’s my makeup line.”’
Selena has a make-up business, Rare Beauty, which she started in 2019. She publicly introduced her firm on social media on February 4, 2020, and the interview with Benny took place in October of the same year.
Whatever Benny’s intentions were behind his choice of words, Selena seemed to be enamoured.
Benny has written songs for Rihanna, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, and Ed Sheeran, as well as Rihanna’s Diamonds, Lizzo’s Grrrls, and SZA’s Nobody Gets Me.
Benny and Selena’s collaboration dates back to 2015, when he produced her Revival tracks Same Old Love and Kill Em’ With Kindness, as well as her 2017 tune Trust Nobody with Cashmere Cat.
In March 2019, they released I Can’t Get Enough, a duet in which Benny dances with Selena in the video. Benny and Selena met paths again in August when he produced Selena’s Single Soon.
Selena has kept her dating life firmly behind closed doors in recent years, despite previously being in high-profile partnerships with Justin and The Weeknd.
