Sofia Vergara has apparently been ‘living her best life’ just weeks after her divorce from seven-year spouse Joe Manganiello.
The former couple announced that they were calling it quits and filing for divorce at the beginning of the week, with a source now alleging the marriage was ‘stifling’.
The Modern Family actress Sofa, 51, married the Magic Mike XXL actor, 46, in a star-studded event in Palm Beach in 2015.
When they revealed their decision to divorce, they termed it a “tough choice” and stated that they still “love and care for one another.”
Joe has subsequently filed for divorce, citing the date of their separation as July 2, while Sofa has just returned from a lavish birthday vacation to Italy with pals.
A source told Page Six: ‘Sofía’s living her best life. She’s spending time with her friends after being stifled in a relationship with a largely unsupportive partner.’
‘Sofía was always there to take care of Joe, while his career was never what it was when they met. I think he’s been threatened by her success and joie de vivre,’ they added.
Sofa and Joe announced their divorce in a joint statement to the publication, saying, ‘We have taken the tough choice to split.
‘As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.’
At the time, an insider claimed that their break-up was due to them ‘growing apart’.

The source continued: ‘Sofía and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.’
Sofa’s Instagram has been swamped with photographs of her surviving the warmth in Italy with friends and seems to have a great time without her ex-husband.
Several uploads show her enjoying the good cuisine and weather against breathtaking scenery.
She subsequently published a photo of herself at dinner with a friend, in addition to a short clip of her being serenaded in a restaurant in front of a cake decorated with sparklers for her birthday.
‘When life gives u lemons u come to Italy to squeeze them,’ the America’s Got Talent judge wrote in a caption that seemed to nod towards the news of her impending divorce breaking.

Sofa began seeing Joe in 2014, after splitting from fiancé Nick Loeb, and they announced their engagement on Christmas Eve six months later.
They married the next November in California, with the comedy icon’s Modern Family co-stars among the guests.
The True Blood star previously couldn’t brag about his lover enough in a rare discussion with Cigar Aficionado, telling the outlet: ‘There’s nobody I’d rather spend time with. For me, she was it.
‘People say things like, “Marriage and relationships are work.” But it’s not. Life is hard. Having somebody to help you deal with it is the greatest thing that ever happened.’
He also deemed it ‘such an easy relationship, easy in all the right ways’.
Meanwhile Sofía revealed she had once told Joe that he was ‘too handsome’ to date.
‘I didn’t want to go into a relationship with somebody that … I thought he was going to be too much work, because girls were throwing themselves at him. ‘I’m like, “Ay! No! Please, I want somebody normal”,’ she said during a 2015 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
