While on vacation, Cristiano Ronaldo shared photos of his toned abs with followers, but the footballer’s toes have captured everyone’s attention.
The 38-year-old, who left Manchester United in January for Saudi Arabia, has caused a sensation with his flawlessly manicured black toenails.
Ronaldo posed for photos on a boat and with friends and family while wearing a backwards cap, sunglasses, and short swimming trunks.
The Instagram photo, labelled ‘Vacation vibe,’ prompted several fans in the comments to question the highest-paid player in history about why he was painting his toes.
Although Ronaldo may just love having his toes painted black, there might be a scientific basis behind the choice.
Painting your toenails as a professional athlete is said to help prevent infections and other terrible foot-related problems.

‘Many top athletes do this to protect their nails from fungi and bacteria when they are stuck in sweaty shoes for hours. Even Mike Tyson,’ German outlet Bild reported.
Most fans focused on Ronaldo’s tanned and toned look but some spotted the toes and wrote: ‘Why is he wearing nail polish man 😭😭😭.’
‘I like the painted toenails,’ said one fan, with numerous commenters simply calling him ‘goat’ meaning greatest of all time.
‘Pedicure 💅,’ joked another, to which their friend replied: ‘For serious men only.’
Some denied that Ronaldo had painted his nails at all, writing, ‘They are not painted, the nail beds are destroyed due to toe stress.’
‘No they are painted, athletes paint them to prevent fungi growth or bacteria on their toenails,’ someone responded.
While Ronaldo’s toes are enjoying the sun, his old number may be coming out of retirement as Manchester United considers who should get the number seven.
According to MEN, the club does not want to just give over the legendary shirt to a new summer acquisition and is instead considering elevating teenager Alejandro Garnacho.
