Beginning on Wednesday, January 4, 2018, McDonald’s will begin offering a new Double McPlant throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.
A new vegan Double is making its way into the discussion, following in the footsteps of other Doubles such as the Double Big Mac, Double Quarter Pounder, and Double and Triple Cheeseburger.
It took more than three years to perfect the original McPlant, which had a meatless patty that was developed in collaboration with Beyond Meat.
Since its introduction in September 2021, it has received a great deal of positive feedback, and as a result, a Double McPlant will be available beginning in the following month.
Just in time for Veganuary.
Two patties made from Beyond Meat will be used in the creation of the new burger, which will also have a vegan sesame bread, mustard, ketchup, the ultimate vegan sandwich sauce, onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and vegan cheese slices.
The Double McPlant is cooked separately from other burgers and sandwiches in restaurant branches.
They’re also cooked using dedicated utensils, so you can rest easy knowing that your burger won’t be cross-contaminated with what the carnivores are ordering.
When the burger drops, it will cost £4.89, and £6.49 for a meal.
It’s not a limited menu item either – the Double McPlant is here to stay.
