The actress who plays Batgirl, Leslie Grace, has given us a glimpse of what we may have had if events had transpired differently.
The young actor, who is only 27 years old, was set to play the lead part in the DC movie that was going to be directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. However, the project was cancelled.
However, Warner Bros. abruptly cancelled the film in August despite it having a budget of $80 million (£66 million), as part of a cost-cutting effort for under the new leadership of David Zaslav, despite the fact that she played the major role in the production. This decision was made despite the fact that she played the role in the production.
Fans were understandably both heartbroken and outraged in the wake of the startling turn of events, and the directors of the film later admitted that they, too, were “traumatised” upon learning the devastating news.
On the other hand, Leslie has shown that she is a lady of the people and has provided fans with a glimpse of the film that they were intended to have if the DC Extended Universe project had been produced on the big screen. If the DC Extended Universe project had been produced on the big screen, then fans would have been able to see the film in theatres.
The singer-songwriter put up a slideshow on 2022 consisting of images depicting her life over the course of the previous year and shared it with the public there. On the set of Batgirl, the photographer snapped a considerable amount of the photographs that were included.

In a series of images that she posted with her followers, Leslie appeared in her role alongside a number of other actresses, and she revealed the full splendour of the purple gown she was wearing.
The photographs that she took with her camera roll show her kidding around with her coworkers while they were filming, eating in her trailer while she was still costumed as Batgirl, and posing on a trampoline for an advertisement shoot that was never made available to the general public.
Leslie captioned her video: ‘thank u for teachin’ me, 2022. you were singular in many ways that will stay with me. my gratitude and love for life is much deeper thanks to the experiences you brought me. i take your lessons with me as we part.’

Naturally, fans flocked to the comments to mourn the loss of Batgirl and to send their love to the star.
‘So wish we could have seen Batgirl. Happy new year, hope 2023 will give you another opportunity to play her again!’, one fan commented.
In love with the costume, another penned: ‘I love the upgraded suit. So sleek and modern, as well as comic accurate. I hope we get to see you as Batgirl one day’.
But despite fans’ hopes that Batgirl might get its time to shine one day, the directors have sadly confirmed that the movie will never be released.

Speaking to Deadline at the Red Sea International Film Festival last year, they said they both went through ‘all the emotions’ after learning their film wouldn’t see the light of day.
‘I was not done yet – far from it,’ said Adil, clarifying that just one round of edits had been finished.
‘There was still a lot of work to be done but they just said it was financial decisions and so that’s that and the movie can never be released.’
When announcing that Batgirl would not be taken forward to release earlier last year, a spokesperson said: ‘The decision to not release Batgirl reflects our leadership’s strategic shift as it relates to the DC universe and HBO Max. Leslie Grace is an incredibly talented actor and this decision is not a reflection of her performance.
‘We are incredibly grateful to the filmmakers of Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt and their respective casts and we hope to collaborate with everyone again in the near future.’
