Kate Pierson of the B-52s looks amazing at 76 years old, and fans are stunned.
The B-52s, formed in Athens, Georgia in 1976, had massive popularity in the 1980s.
But you would never guess the band’s lead singer was in her mid-seventies based on her appearance in a recent photo.
The Love Shack singer posed for a recent selfie with fellow 90s popstars Lisa Loeb, 56, and Lyle Lovett, 66.
Kate wore a purple velvet blazer, and her signature red hair was loose and long in this reunion portrait.
Recent photographs of Kate indicate that her beautiful wrinkle-free face is not a one-time occurrence, as the singer appears to have been defying ageing for years.
Several images demonstrate that the singer looks as good now as she did in the 1980s.
The B-52s had several hits, including Rock Lobster, Summer of Love, and (Meet) The Flintstones. They received three Grammy nominations in the early 1990s and published seven studio albums during the course of their decades-long career.
Their most renowned hit was undoubtedly Love Shack, which was released in 1989 and remains on lists of the greatest songs of all time.
Kate pursued a solo career, and in 2015, at the age of 65, she published her first solo album, Guitars and Microphones.
The album wasn’t met with huge critical success, but it was a passion project for the artist.
Kate told Spin: ‘ It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but never could get it out there into the public.’
‘I mean, the B-52s has been kind of all-consuming. You know, we started early in ’76. We toured a lot. I’ve always wanted to do a solo record.’
She added: ‘I just wanted to be more real and emotional. The B-52s, you know, our songs are about volcanoes or lobsters.’
Decades after their first triumph, the band embarked on a Vegas residency in 2022, which began in 2023 and will last through 2024.
The band is no longer a fivesome because guitarist Ricky Wilson died of an AIDS-related illness in 1985.
The band pays honour to their late bandmate by constantly sharing videos and images of him.
The B-52s Vegas Residency continues in November this year.
