Kesha’s most recent album has been released, and she’s marking the event in a unique way.
The pop sensation behind Tik Tok, aged 36, unveiled her fifth studio album on the 19th of May, and has since taken to social media to celebrate, doing it in a manner that we absolutely love.
Basking in the sun-drenched celebration, the Blah Blah Blah artist previously known as Ke$ha, posed with her vinyl LPs in what seems to be a garden, exuding strong vibes.
In several snaps, the pop diva seemed to be having a blast—crossing her legs in one and languidly lounging on a blanket in another.
Kesha, whose real name is Kesha Rose Sebert, seemed at ease with a sparkling swimming pool in the backdrop.
The artist seemed on cloud nine as she encouraged her fans: ‘GET NAKED AND LISTEN TO GAG ORDER ON VINYL!’
She further urged: ‘Additionally, send me your attractive pics. When you’ve got my new album, who requires clothing??!!’ [sic]
The album cover, featuring just the star’s face that seems vacuum-packed, is absolutely dazzling—an image that appears to embody the title of the album, Gag Order.
The title infers the singer’s reluctance to talk about her lawsuit against the music producer Dr Luke (real name Lukasz Gottwald).
The singer, who at 18 penned a six-album contract with Dr Luke’s former record company Kemosabe Records, made allegations in a 2014 civil lawsuit that he drugged and sexually assaulted her.
Dr Luke refuted these allegations, and the case was eventually dismissed.
However, 49-year-old Dr Luke has accused Kesha of defaming him by telling Lady Gaga via text that he sexually assaulted Katy Perry.
Since the text, the two have been locked in a court battle that has stretched on for a decade.
In 2017, Dr Luke left Sony’s record label and has since worked with multiple famed artists, including Rihanna, Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Pitbull, and Kelly Clarkson.
Kesha saw a victory in 2021 when the court ruled that Dr Luke must show “by clear and compelling evidence,” that the singer had malicious intent in her text message.
Dr Luke’s legal crew said that Kesha ‘dished out a horrible lie to wriggle out of her contracts’.
Kesha’s attorney Leah Godesky mentioned: ‘The case in question involves 2016 text messages to Lady Gaga in which Kesha accused Dr. Luke of sexually assaulting Katy Perry. Dr. Luke claimed the text was slanderous, and won a summary judgment in 2020. The appeal trial could take place later this year.
She further stated: ‘Clearly, since the start, this case has been a matter of he-said-she-said where the evidentiary burden carries weight.’
A judge concluded the previous year that Kesha had defamed Dr Luke with the texts, and the singer was ordered to pay around $400,000 (£290,000).
In her statement, Katy Perry denied being sexually assaulted or attacked by Dr Luke.
This is Kesha’s last album with Kemosabe Records.
