Kylie Minogue was joined by a very special guest as she hosted the official World Pride 2023 opening celebration in Australia.
The 54-year-old vocalist delivered a 30-minute concert that included some of her biggest hits, including Can’t Get You Out Of My Mind, to a sold-out stadium.
On the night, however, ticket holders received more than they paid for, as they were treated to not one, but two Minogues, as Kylie performed with her sister Dannii.
She hit the stage in The Domain in Sydney on Friday, ahead of the event honouring the LGBTQ+ community.
Kylie had one more surprise for the fans as she closed up the excellent night with her chart-topping single All The Loves and summoned her singing sibling Danni, 51, to the stage.
Dannii and Kylie both wore matching transparent lace bodysuits for the event, with Dannii wearing pink and Kylie wearing royal blue.
Supporters at the arena and watching remotely on a live broadcast hurried to social media to express their delight at the memorable moment.
One onlooker commented: ‘Feeling grateful to live in the same age that is, Kylie and Dannii Minogue tbh [sic],’ while another penned: ‘This is gorgeous! #KylieMinogue and her beautiful sister Danni singing one of my favourite Kylie songs. How stunning are they? 51 & 54 – age does not define a woman! [sic]’.
Alongside a video that showed the sibling duo singing their hearts out during the legendary performance, a fan typed: ‘KYLIE & DANNII = PERFECTION [sic]’.
The renowned sisters hadn’t performed on stage together since 2015, when Kylie surprised audiences with Dannii as a special guest for her Christmas concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Dannii was the first to make a reputation for herself in their home Australia, with a regular role on the 1980s kids show Young Talent Time.
The global event featured star-studded performances by British singer Charli XCX and Australian artist Jessica Mauboy, among others.
The opening event was presented by Aussie musician Casey Donovan and Drag Race veteran Courtney Act.
