The list of performers at the Brit Awards 2023 has been expanded to include US megastar Lizzo.
The Brit Awards 2023 with Mastercard, which will take place on February 11, are likely to be one of the largest yet, which is saying a lot since last year’s celebration saw the one and only Adele take the stage to shout out hits from her new album.
Lizzo had her own triumphant return in 2022 with the chart-topping About Damn Time, for which she is nominated for song of the year and international artist of the year.
It’s not Lizzo’s first time performing at the prestigious UK awards show; she previously took the stage in 2020 after soaring to popularity in 2019 with the earworm Truth Hurts.
Becky Hill, David Guetta, and Ella Henderson, who achieved number one with Crazy What Love Can Do in 2022, will all be in attendance at the O2.
Becky will be performing for the first time at the awards presentation, after winning the prize for British dance act last year and being nominated again this year.
The actress was overjoyed when she announced she would be performing, adding it was “what dreams are made of.”
‘I’m very delighted to be performing alongside David Guetta, who gave me my Best Dance Act Brit last year,’ she added.
‘This is a huge moment for me, and having another Britnom this year is a fantastic way to kick into 2023.’
Meanwhile, DJ Guetta stated that it was a “huge honour” to be nominated for the Brit Awards, “since I have always had a strong connection to British music and culture and had incredible experiences here.”
He expressed gratitude to the public for their continued support, noting that the tremendously catchy music, I’m Good, is his seventh number one hit in the UK.
‘Being recognised again means a lot to me because the UK dance industry is full of fantastic performers. This work with Bebe is a never-ending gift, and we are both honoured to have been nominated.’
The additions of Lizzo and Becky to the lineup join an already stacked lineup that includes Wet Leg, Cat Burns, Sam Smith, and Kim Petras.
Oh, and there’s a newcomer named Harry Styles.
Former One Direction member haarry is tied with up-and-coming band Wet Leg for the most nominations, with both receiving four.
Hazza is up for artist of the year, album of the year, song of the year, and pop/R&B act of the year.
For the first time in its history, the yearly spectacle will be held on a Saturday, and will be hosted by a returning Mo Gilligan.
