After disclosing her own sheet-changing regimen, Stacey Solomon sparked a lively debate on how frequently you should change your bedsheets.
Stacey revealed this during an appearance on Hits Radio on Monday, when host James Barr asked the X Factor alumni how often he should wash his bedding now that he’s single.
‘Once a week, I’d guess,’ the Sort Your Life Out star responded quickly.
‘Oh really?’ said a wide-eyed James, surprised at this expected level of cleanliness. ‘I think that’s a lot!’
He later stated that he was thinking ‘once a month’.
What followed was a hilarious back pedal, during which 33-year-old Stacey informed the presenter that once a week is probably good, and he should appreciate the single life and ‘wallow in your own filth for a time’.
Co-host Fleur East then watched on open-mouthed, apparently finding the exchange pretty amusing, as Stacey continued: ‘You know how when you’re single, you don’t have to shave your legs, so you just go like full Gruffalo? I feel it’s the same.’
James interrupted Stacey’s inspirational speech on the filthiness of singledom to correct her that, while he isn’t in a relationship, he didn’t say there wouldn’t be any other men in his bed.
Grasping James’ meaning, the tidy-house-tidy-mind advocate concluded: ‘Oh, well in that case then I mean imminently.’
‘If you’re gonna have people over you defo need to change the sheets.’
A discussion about bedsheet changing erupted last year after a poll indicated that nearly half of unmarried men don’t wash their bed sheets for up to four months at a time.
Everyone thought it was horrible, but it became worse when experts said the recommended amount is once a week, or every two weeks at most.
That’s it, people; Stacey is correct.
The Loose Women panellist also revealed that watching her 41-year-old husband Joe Swash do housekeeping turns her on.
Stacey told Fleur: ‘If I woke up and Joe was just cleaning the windows, I’m not going to lie I could probably get pregnant again.’
Stacey is ready to give birth to her fifth child, two of whom she shares with the former EastEnders actor, one-year-old Rose and three-year-old Rex.
She also has a 10-year-old son named Leighton, whom she has with ex-fiancé Aaron Barham, and a 14-year-old son named Zachary, whom she had when she was 18 with then-boyfriend Dean Cox.

Joe has a 15-year-old son named Harry from a previous relationship.
After fans believed Stacey had gone into labour after she went silent on social media, the very pregnant celebrity has indicated she is due any day now.
But Stacey took to Instagram to quell the rumours, and said: ‘So many of you were like, “Stace, don’t do that to us, you’ve been quiet for a few days and we thought you’d given birth.”’
The actress added that her midwife advised her not to “do anything dumb” in order to delay the arrival of her kid, which resulted in her online disappearance.
‘Sorry, I’m very much still full-term pregnant, I just really wanted to try and make it to a couple of days before the baby comes,’ she added.
Stacey claimed they intended to keep the first few months quiet so they could ‘enjoy it to ourselves’ when they revealed their pregnancy three weeks ago.
