Loudes Leon’s music career has advanced with another song, this time dedicated to her renowned mother Madonna.
The 26-year-old singer shared a preview of new tune, Spelling, along with a creepy music video on social media.
Following a scary introduction to the sample that features a supposedly ghostly dog rushing through a dark night landscape, Lourdes can be seen raised in a spooky wood, dressed in a long, flowing black gown.
Spelling is a tribute to Madonna’s ‘work of art,’ Frozen, which was released in 1998 and featured the Hung Up singer dressed in a very similar gothic attire, raised in a dismal backdrop.
Lourdes characterised Spelling in an accompanying caption to the footage, which is now available on all streaming platforms, as’very amazing.’
‘This piece is very special,’ she said. ‘It’s an homage to my mother’s timeless piece of art Frozen.
‘That piece has come up countless times in my life, connecting the two of us.
‘I would be nothing without the woman who brought me into the world. I revere her, and hope that this translates,’ she said.
Lourdes then thanked everyone who worked on the huge video, in which she even appears naked at one point.
Lourdes, who seems high in a witch-like platform above a woodland floor like her mother in the Frozen entrance, dances to the meditative beat as the tempo quickens.
Crows swoop over the screen, and Lourdes appears to transform into a mystical Doberman dog while drab landscape images of a vast river running through the woodland punctuate pictures of the star.
Lourdes emerges naked at the conclusion of the song, first in a studded leather garment, then in a netted stringy number.
The singer dances in the moonlight until the camera cuts to an image of her strolling into water naked, turning around to face the camera, and then diving into the depths.
Let’s just say the creepy – but extremely amazing – video has arrived just in time for Halloween.
Lourdes’ stage name is Lolahol, and she certainly isn’t about to succumb to mainstream expectations anytime soon, with admirers praising the distinctive sound of her third album since launching her music career in August last year.
‘The thing no one understands is that she could be doing mainstream generic music but she really chooses artistry, self expression and taste over that!!!’ commented one fan on YouTube.
‘This song and the video is insane! it’s giving me the “frozen” vibes,’ said another. ‘I can’t wait to hear more music from her.’
