Shane MacGowan of The Pogues has released a new photo from his hospital bed for a particular cause.
Shane, 65, has spent the last year seeking therapy for a variety of health conditions.
On Saturday, the singer announced that he had been visited by a friend, sound engineer Tom Creagh, and shared a photo of the two together in commemoration of Tom’s birthday.
Shane posted a photo of himself donning a medical gown while lying in bed to commemorate Tom’s milestone.
A big crucifix was wrapped around Shane’s neck, and a nasogastric tube was observed emerging from his nose.
He captioned his photo: ‘Happy birthday to the great Tom Creagh a living legend and a wonderful friend.’

Shane was hospitalised last Christmas with encephalitis, a rare, life-threatening brain illness that caused his brain to enlarge.
In June of this year, he was readmitted to the hospital. The reason for this is unknown, although he was reportedly treated in intensive care.
Victoria Mary Clarke, Shane’s wife, has been sending updates on his behalf in recent months.
She recently shared a nice, smiling snapshot of Shane resting in his bed.

TThe Fairytale of New York hitmaker, who was wearing a medical gown and a cross around his neck, gazed up at the camera.
Victoria’s tweet read: ‘Shane is praying for peace and love for everyone in the world’.
Fans interpreted the statement as referring to the ongoing conflict following Hamas’ onslaught on Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of deaths.
Prior to that, Victoria’s last internet post on Shane’s health was on October 3.
Along with a photo of him, she conveyed her happiness that he was having a wonderful day.
‘Feeling really really grateful that @ShaneMacGowan is looking so bright today!’, she began sweetly. ‘And we as determined as ever to get home!’
Victoria added: ‘Thank you a million times to all of the doctors and nurses and all of the staff and everyone who is visiting him!’
