Adam Collard has acknowledged that he had a game plan for his comeback to Love Island.
The 27-year-old returned to the villa last summer in the greatest shock of the series, leaving before the final with Welsh paramedic Paige Thorne, however they split up not long after.
Adam has now said that he would surely ‘pick the perfect person’ in the villa to help himself stay on the ITV2 dating programme.
‘The thing with Love Island is I’m the only one who is willing to admit it, I would completely choose the right person to stay on the show,’ he told MailOnline. ‘That’s why I got back on the show in my eyes, they realised I didn’t care about anything.’
He insisted everyone on the show understands the nature of ‘the game’, but he struggled with his second stint because he saw ‘everything’ that was going on.
‘We all know the game. It was really hard for me the second time because I could see through everything, it is unbelievable how clear it is the second time,’ he said.

‘It messes with your head, you almost convince yourself you like these people and then once you see the light and get back home you realise you aren’t a perfect match.’
He was the first former Islander to return as a bombshell last year, and now he has spoken out about ITV’s new rule this year that competitors’ social media profiles remained ‘dormant’ during their time in the island.
‘I don’t know if I would have said yes the second time if they had said that to me because what is the point,’ he explained. ‘I don’t feel sorry for anyone who puts themselves in that situations.
‘Unless you are from one of the early series, the first three series you could come off and have a normalish life but now everyone is going on to strive to be a Molly-Mae.’
Adam originally appeared on the reality dating show in 2018, when he was paired up with Zara McDermott, and the couple even moved in together before splitting up.
Meanwhile, he has hinted about returning to the Love Island villa for a third time, but confessed that management might not be as enthusiastic.
He said: ‘I’d consider Love Island for a third time, but I don’t think producers would have me back as I was too soppy and didn’t cause enough drama.’
Love Island is available on ITVX.
