Alison Hammond has confirmed that she is still unmarried after being questioned by her fellow This Morning co-hosts today.
Only a few weeks ago, it was reported that the new presenter of The Great British Bake Off was betrothed to Ben Hawkins.
Colin, Alison’s prospective father-in-law, stated in February that she planned to stroll down the aisle with her gardener beau.
However, as soon as the reports surfaced, Alison shot them down, claiming she was unmarried and calling wedding talk “fake news.”
Earlier today, while being questioned by her colleague This Morning presenter, she disclosed that she still has a Pear Ring, which is used to declare a person’s single status.
When co-host Dermot O’Leary noted she wasn’t wearing the Pear band on Friday, he inquired about her new jewellery: ‘The green band is gone?’
Alison responded by confirming that she is still unmarried and owns a Pear Ring, despite not sporting one on TV this morning.
‘No, no, no. It is definitely not gone. Trust me, that ring is going nowhere,’ she said. ‘I’ve contacted the company and they’re going to send me a proper ring.’
The Pear Ring is part of a larger societal experiment that promotes singles to meet in public rather than on dating applications.

If one person wears the Pear Ring and notices another wearing one, it serves as an encouragement for the two people to start chatting to each other.
Alison and Ben were seen in public together for the first time in mid-February, with the pair believed to have been dating since 2021.
But, earlier in March, as Dermot was explaining the new Davina McCall relationship programme The Romance Retreat, Alison interjected, ‘Hey, I’m unmarried!’
Alison spoke out this week, declaring that she will “always win” after a man was arrested on suspected of blackmailing the TV host.
‘You want to know four major reasons why I will always win?’ she said. I don’t despise anyone, I pray, I remain in my own lane, and I’m not vying with anyone except myself.’
Watch This Morning on ITV weekdays from 10am.
