Amy Dowden disclosed on Monday that she was brought to the hospital just three weeks after finishing treatment.
The 33-year-old Strictly Come Dancing star was diagnosed with breast cancer in May and has since kept fans informed on her experience, including therapy.
Amy, who was expecting to make her return to the BBC One show, recently fractured her foot, putting an end to her hopes to join her fellow pros on the dancefloor this season.
She’s now revealed she was rushed to hospital, sharing in a video on Thursday: ‘Hello everyone, unfortunately I’ve had a nightmare this week, seems to be never-ending, and I was rushed into hospital on Monday.
‘It became to our knowledge on Tuesday that I’ve got another blood clot on my lung and they were really worried that the clot was travelling to my heart or effecting my heart. Luckily, it’s not.’
Amy went on to display marks on her hands from being hooked up to drips while in the hospital.
She continued: ‘This was a shock and it just means now I’m really gutted, because I was on blood thinners anyway from the blood clots in my arm and I’ve still got then a blood clot on my lung and because it’s so close to the heart it’s a risk.’
After taking tablets daily, Amy said she’s on blood-thinner injections ‘for the foreseeable’, adding: ‘It’s not nice.’
She went on: ‘I’ve just been really frustrated, I had lots planned this week, voiceovers, just getting my life back, and it just seems to be – like with my foot – as soon as I get it back, something comes.’
‘I think we get into our heads once we finish chemo that’s it, but you learn, it really isn’t,’ Amy added.
‘But I’m home now after a few nights in hospital, and I’ve got the tree up… so it feels cozy,’ she said.
‘Just had another rubbish week and I’m really frustrated, because I guess I was a bit deluded, I thought my hair would start going back way quicker and looking at photos [from a few weeks ago] and I look like I had more hair than I do now,’ Amy continued, saying she thinks she’s still losing hair on her eyebrows and eyelashes.
‘The one’s I’ve got left are just going, and that’s been frustrating and getting me down.’
Amy closed her video by thanking the NHS and the nurses who cared for her, especially the one who sat next to her hospital bed while she was angry.
‘I’m going to rest up because I want to get back to Amy and doing what I love,’ she concluded.
Amy had a mastectomy in July and started chemotherapy earlier this year after doctors detected further tumours, before ringing the bell to signal the end of her treatment this month.
During her treatment, she uploaded a video of herself bravely shaving her head after suffering from terrible hair loss, before choosing to make surprise TV appearances sans a wig, thanks to the encouragement and support of her co-stars.
Strictly Come Dancing continues at 7.25pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
