Ant Middleton has defended Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield from accusations they ‘skipped the queue’ for Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin and even claimed celebrities are ‘disadvantaged’, actually.
On Friday September 16, Holly and Phil filmed a segment for This Morning and subsequently entered Westminster Hall in a queue set up especially for press rather than the lengthy queue packed without thousands of mourners.
However, thousands have since signed a petition calling for Holly and Phillip to be sacked from This Morning, accusing the pair of being given special treatment to ‘skip the queue’.
Former SAS: Who Dares Wins star Ant has now leapt to their defence, urging his followers to ‘give Phil and Holly a break!’
‘You don’t want “Celebs” to be treated differently to the general public (I agree),’ he tweeted.
‘But yet you also want them held accountable to propaganda, hearsay and every word they say!

‘They ARE treated differently and trust me when I say in a disadvantaged way! #ShoeFoot.’ (sic)
This Morning also issued a statement, insisting the presenters didn’t jump the queue.
‘Hello everyone, we would like to clarify something’, the statement began.
‘We asked Phillip and Holly to be part of a film for this Tuesday’s programme.
‘They did not jump the queue, have VIP access or file past the Queen lying in state – but instead were there in a professional capacity as part of the world’s media to report on the event’.
Other ‘disadvantaged’ celebrities who did queue, waiting for around 12 hours to say goodbye to Her Majesty included David Beckham, Tilda Swinton and Susanna Reid who said on today’s Good Morning Britain it was a ‘privilege’ to queue.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
