Today’s edition of Bargain Hunt will have a unique Queen Elizabeth II stool and a ticket to her coronation in 1953.
In this special show, viewers will get a detailed look at the things to commemorate King Charles III’s forthcoming coronation.
The regular structure will also continue, with presenter Christina Trevanion challenging two teams to acquire antiques from fairs and stores on a strict budget, with the goal of turning a profit at auction.
The significant distinction in this episode is that the opposing sides are made up of royal fans. Each team will be granted £300 to spend on three things at the Newark Antiques Fair in Coddington, Nottinghamshire, where they will be joined by experts Raj Bisram and Roo Irvine.
‘It is an amazing honour to have been invited to host this special episode of Bargain Hunt to commemorate King Charles III’s coronation,’ said British auctioneer Christina.
‘I’ve been fortunate to have attended past royal occasions such as the Queen’s Golden and Platinum Jubilees.
‘I am really looking forward to our new King’s coronation and the chance to celebrate another important historical event with our nation.’
When you’ve finished shopping, the items go under the hammer at Richard Winterton Auctioneers in Lichfield.
Christina will also visit a pottery to look at some new commemorative china and will even try her hand at crafting a royal plate in the episode.
Bargain Hunt, which was aired in 2000 and has been presented by David Dickinson and Tim Wonnacott, is one of many BBC shows that will air coronation specials. EastEnders, Countryfile, Antiques Roadshow, and Songs of Praise will all be airing specials to commemorate the King’s coronation with the Queen Consort on Saturday.
Bargain Hunt Coronation special is on Friday May 5 at 12.15pm on BBC One.
