Ben Thompson of BBC Breakfast replied after a mild wardrobe malfunction was picked up while he was on broadcast.
On Sunday, the 39-year-old TV host joined Sarah Campbell on the red sofa to discuss the latest events after Palestinian militants launched an unprecedented attack on Israel.
When Ben turned around to talk to a journalist onscreen, an observant fan noticed a wardrobe error and detected a hole in Ben’s suit.
They wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: ‘#BBCBreakfast hello breakfast team can you please tell Ben he has a hole in his jacket under his right arm I just wanted to let him know ok.’
Writing back, Ben later joked: ‘Don’t know my own strength! Thanks for spotting!’

This comes after Ben’s co-host Naga Munchetty responded to trolls who dubbed her dress “sleazy.”
In a recent episode of BBC Breakfast, the 48-year-old sat on the red sofa with Charlie Stayt, dressed in a grey silk gown.
She looked stunning in the buttoned-up ensemble, but evidently not everyone was pleased.
One viewer is said to have written, in a since deleted Tweet: ‘What is @TVNaga01 wearing?? Looks like she’s come straight to work from a night out at a sleazy single’s nightclub…’
The vicious remark didn’t bother Naga, who answered with a caustic remark.
She wrote back: ‘Sssssh… don’t tell anyone. (btw – it’s called a dress).’
Her response was showered in praise, with one person writing: ‘What is it with people they have to criticise what people wear. Are they that insecure how about how they dress they have to berate others Naga you got some great taste in clothes, wish I was as stylish x.’
BBC Breakfast airs from 6am on BBC One.
