BBC personality Owain Wyn Evans is allegedly the newest addition to the Strictly Come Dancing 2023 cast.
The 39-year-old would face Amanda Abbington, Layton Williams, and Angela Rippon, who have already been announced for the BBC blockbuster series.
A friend of the broadcaster is claimed to have said that he ‘can’t wait to get started’ on the show because he is a ‘huge fan’ and has a ‘genuine interest in dancing despite being a novice.’
‘Owain appreciates he’ll have it tougher than most, given he’ll continue his daily radio hosting duties, but he’s up for the challenge,’ they continued to The Sun.
Owain formerly worked as a weather forecaster for BBC Look North, North West Tonight, and BBC Breakfast.
He presently hosts a BBC Radio 2 show and contributes often to the magazine and conversation show The One Show.
Owain has also been on the S4C TV show Iaith ar Daith, when he accompanied Carol Vorderman on a tour of Wales and taught her the Welsh language.
He has also appeared as a celebrity guest on Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel and co-hosted BBC’s New Year’s Eve special The Big New Year’s In with Maya Jama and Paddy McGuinness.
Owain appeared in the reality competition series Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Lee Mack in 2022.
Other alleged Strictly contestants include Stuart Broad, Brenda Williams, and Les Dennis.
In 2022, celebrity cameraman-turned-dancer Hamza Yassin and his professional partner Jowita Przystal won the long-running ballroom tournament.
Strictly Come Dancing returns soon on BBC One.
