Will Best, Big Brother’s presenter, has hinted what we can expect from the highly anticipated ITV revival.
After a five-year hiatus, the legendary reality programme will return to our screens next year with a brand new home on ITV2.
And while auditions to become a roommate have begun, the actual launch date remains unknown.
It was announced last month that presenter Aj Odudu, 35, and TV personality Will, 38, will lead the relaunch, and host Will has vowed that the new series will be ‘fun.’
‘It’s going back to being real people,’ he said.
‘The focus of this is it’s going to be an entertainment show, but it’s going to be fun and funny with all of that emotion and realness that you get with Big Brother,’ he added to The Sun.
Will’s first known presenting assignment was in 2010, when he co-hosted the comedy-pop programme Suck my Pop on Viva with Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh. The duo would do interviews and amusing challenges with famous singers, but the show only lasted three months.
The next year, he joined T4, where he remained until its dissolution in 2012.
Will has previous Big Brother experience, having been a frequent panellist on Big Brother’s Big on the Side on Channel 4 between 2013 and 2014.
‘I grew up with ‘Big Brother,’ so getting an opportunity to host it with my pal AJ is a dream come true,’ he added, recalling how he was a fan of the original programme. I’m excited to advise some of my housemates not to swear.’
AJ was also a co-presenter on the spin-off show and its celebrity version, with her meteoric ascent on TV fueled even further by her spectacular performance on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021.
‘AJ and Will really are our perfect pairing as we prepare to reintroduce ‘Big Brother’ to the next generation,’ said Paul Mortimer, director of reality commissioning for ITV2 and ITVX.
‘With a genuine chemistry, both of them will bring effortless wit, charm
and heaps of character to their roles and we’re delighted to be working
with them both again.’
The Big Brother reboot is set to launch on ITV2 and ITVX later this year.
