Black Mirror has released a scary trailer previewing the five episodes of the forthcoming sixth season, and we can’t wait.
The new episodes of Charlie Brooker’s dark anthology series will be available on the platform on June 6, four years after the fifth season began.
So yet, just a few narrative elements have been disclosed, while the star-studded ensemble has only recently been unveiled.
Aaron Paul, Josh Hartnett, Rory Culkin, and Rob Delaney are among the celebrities who have agreed to appear. Salma Hayek, Zazie Beetz, Michael Cera, and Paapa Essiedu are among the cast members.
However, we now know a little more about each of the five episodes, as well as their actual names, thanks to a brand new trailer.
Salma from Magic Mike’s Last Dance plays a Hollywood celebrity in the first episode, Joan is Awful.
The synopsis for the episode reads: ‘An average woman is stunned to discover a global streaming platform has launched a prestige TV drama adaptation of her life — in which she is portrayed by Hollywood A-lister Salma Hayek Pinault.’
The second episode, Loch Henry, takes a sinister turn as a young couple find themselves caught up in ‘a juicy local story involving shocking events of the past’ when they travel to a sleepy Scottish town to work on a nature documentary.
Beyond The Sea, starring Aaron and Josh, follows an alternative to 1969, where ‘two men on a perilous high-tech mission wrestle with the consequences of an unimaginable tragedy.’
The penultimate episode, Mazey Day, is teased with a voice saying: ‘Nick’s offering 30k for the first photo of her.’
The episode follows ‘a troubled starlet is dogged by invasive paparazzi while dealing with the consequences of a hit-and-run incident.’
Finally, Demon 79 looks to be as frightening as it sounds, as the teaser concludes with a spine-chilling scream.
Set in Northern England, 1979, the episode will see Anjana and Paapa as ‘a meek sales assistant is told she must commit terrible acts to prevent disaster.’
The official synopsis reads: ‘Expect the unexpected. The long-awaited return of Charlie Brooker’s dark, satirical anthology series which reinvents itself with each new episode.
‘The sixth season of Black Mirror is the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected yet.’
Black Mirror season 6 premieres on Netflix this June.
