Big Brother’s Farida has been chastised for’reinforcing so many misconceptions about handicapped people’ with her comments regarding Kerry.
In a tantrum in the diary room on Thursday’s episode, make-up artist Farida, 50, called Kerry, who has multiple sclerosis (MS), which limits movement, ‘lazy’ for not partaking in culinary duties such as cutting food.
ITV viewers were outraged by Farida, who has previously clashed with the NHS manager, leaving her in floods of tears, with one raging: ‘Kerry is lazy? She’s got multiple sclerosis Farida hun.’
Another fumed: ‘Farida calling Kerry lazy is reinforcing so many stereotypes about disabled people.
‘Please remember you only see a small section of the show and that people contribute in different ways.’
‘Farida has not just called someone with multiple sclerosis, lazy,’ a third added.

According to the NHS, MS is an illness that can damage the brain and spinal cord, resulting in a variety of potential symptoms such as vision, arm or leg mobility, feeling, or balance issues.
It’s not the first time Farida has been chastised by fans since the ITV revival premiered, when she questioned Hallie, a trans woman, if the guys who liked her would be deemed homosexual.
Hallie gently answered, explaining that because she is a woman, the men cannot be gay.
The scene caused some reaction on social media, with one writing: ‘Does Farida not understand Hallie is a woman, I dunno I feel these questions are a bit wild tbh.’
Others, however, pointed out that Farida seemed to mean no harm by her curiosity: ‘So much respect to Hallie for having a mature convo with Farida and not go off at someone who’s trying to learn but saying the wrong thing.’
Hallie subsequently told other flatmate Zak about the conversation, at which point Farida came over.
I’m so conflicted about Farida… sometimes I think what she says about Kerry in the Diary Room is uncalled for, and then we see her conversation about religion and it makes me love her. #BBUK

‘I didn’t take it to offence don’t worry,’ Hallie told her.
‘I just know that people ask questions and they don’t mean offence by it. They just want to know. They just don’t know how to word it correctly.’
Samantha, Hallie’s mother, also commented on the incident, saying she was ‘proud’ of how her daughter handled it.
Big Brother continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
