Felix Clements, a semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, has already planned how he’ll spend the prize money if he wins this year.
During his audition, the PE teacher stunned judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and Bruno Tonioli with an expressive modern dance, and he’s ready to do it all again in tonight’s live broadcast.
While most candidates hope to become celebrities after competing on the yearly competition series, the 25-year-old told us what he wants to do when the programme concludes.
‘I would love to stay in teaching,’ he said.
‘I really want to give back to the local primary schools. Especially if I did win the prize. I want to try and develop a real art system within the primary school so best staging for their school performances, and like better costumes, they really elevate their performances.’
Felix was taken aback when he saw several of his classmates in the crowd during his audition, but if he is proclaimed champion, he believes his kids would be shocked.
‘I think they would be gobsmacked. It’s almost like a role reverse. They’ll be as speechless as I was when I saw them on stage,’ he added.
The dancer revealed his inspiration for Saturday’s performance came from 2008 BGT winner George Sampson, and while he seemed confident, it wasn’t the case.
‘For the first time, I was super, super nervous on the first audition,’ he added.
‘I didn’t know really what to think of it when I went on stage, but when I started dancing, all the nerves just seemed to go away. And everything flowed.’
When asked what pushed him to sign up, he continued: ‘So I teach quite a lot of kids, school kids and dancers. I really wanted to make them know that there are people are able to have a platform and get on a platform such as Britain’s Got Talent, and let them know that anything’s really possible.
Britain’s Got Talent continues tonight at 8pm on ITV.
