Viggo Venn, the winner of Britain’s Got Talent, appears to have addressed some of the anger following his recent triumph.
Viggo was allegedly booed by several of the studio audience after being named as the winner on Sunday, while some viewers voiced surprise at his victory.
He has now addressed the unfavourable reaction when speaking with Lorraine Kelly on her show.
‘It’s not my fault I won; it’s the British public,’ he explained unprompted to the host.
Lorraine, 63, congratulated him on his victory, to which he replied, ‘I was praying I didn’t win because it would be so embarrassing.’
During his final performance, the comedian made Simon Cowell wear an identical hi-vis jacket as rose petals were tossed over the pair, which had the judges in stitches.
And, as if two jackets weren’t enough, the entire audience was outfitted in a hi-vis vest! In the tumultuous performance, there was also cursing, balloon popping, and confetti.
Viggo brought some of that tumultuous intensity to the ITV set. He dashed inside the studio, where everyone save Lorraine was wearing high-visibility vests. She called his dash into the interview chair ‘the finest entrance ever’ on the show.
In another bizarre occasion, Viggo proclaimed mid-interview that he was hungry and moved across to a fruit dish, where he attempted to bite into a phoney apple.
Lorraine and Viggo attempted to sit down together for the second time. He was supposed to come on the show yesterday but backed out at the last minute.
‘Viggo was meant to be with me in the studio this morning but sadly, he’s not feeling so cheery but perhaps, we’ll see him later on,’ Lorraine stated to viewers.
Viggo, she said, needs a ‘little rest.’
Lorraine appeared to be tremendously entertained, but when broadcasters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly revealed Viggo as the winner, several viewers turned to social media to voice their opinions and highlight the ‘booing’.

Did you hear them boo’s on @BGT? Quite right too, ridiculous. So much more talent in that final tonight. #BGT2023 should not have made the live shows. Poor winner
