Carol Vorderman and Janice Dickinson allegedly clashed over the monarchy while filming I’m A Celebrity…South Africa.
After 22 seasons, the next spin-off is finally available today, with a slew of luminaries vying for the title of ultimate champion.
This time, the renowned faces are in South Africa rather than Australia, as the series was pre-recorded last year.
In 2023, the cast will comprise former Countdown presenter Paul Burrell, Jordan Banjo, Shaun Ryder, Helen Flanagan, Fatima Whitbread, Phil Tuffnel, Amir Khan, and TV personality Janice.
The stars have hinted that this special edition would be plenty of drama, and it appears that Carol, 62, and Janice, 68, will be in the centre of it all.
According to sources, the two singers had a heated argument about the Royal Family when Janice expressed her opposition to the throne.
‘It was a really explosive bust-up… Janice was effing and blinding,’ an insider told the Mirror.
‘She said Carol’s views were old-fashioned and dated while Carol hit back that Janice was crass and obnoxious. She and Carol are both strong women with strong opinions. It was a personality clash that was bound to explode.’
Carol recently took a go at Janice during an interview with Lorraine Kelly last month.
The former game show presenter was eager to talk about many of her co-stars, including Helen, whom she called as her ‘little meerkat’ and that she had ‘fell in love with’.
She referred to boxer Amir as “one of the funniest men on the planet,” while also mentioning her friendship with Diversity dancer Jordan, whom she referred to as his “jungle mum” when they both participated on the 2016 season.
Carol couldn’t have spoken more highly of Fatima Whitbread, emphasising how ‘amazing’ her story is, and stating: ‘What a woman, what a story.’
But when Janice was brought up in the chat, the TV personality avoided the issue.
‘Janice Dickinson, we’ll not talk about her so much,’ she responded.
Safe to say we’re in for a treat!
I’m A Celebrity… South Africa begins on Monday April 24 at 9pm on ITV.
