Carol Vorderman thanked her followers for their support after weeping during her latest I’m A Celebrity trial.
During Tuesday’s episode, the former Countdown host and Olympian Fatima Whitbread collaborated to win camp stars and put dinner on the table.
While the 62-year-old TV personality was eager to get started and bring home the bacon, she quickly realised how difficult it would be.
Carol had to hold her breath while travelling below in numerous tanks to acquire the stars, encountering crocodiles and snakes and turning to a little breathing hole for oxygen when she needed it.
Explaining that drowning was her worst concern, she started to panic at one point while Fatima – who wasn’t inside the underwater tanks – told her: ‘Let it calm, you’re alright. You can do it; just keep your cool.’
Carol expressed how much the challenge touched her once fans watched the heartbreaking events.
Thank u for your amazing messages about @imacelebrity tonight. I had the first panic attack of my life 😔 but pushed as much as I was able. The snake in the final breathing hole was a tank too far 😳

Carol revealed the source of her dread to co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
‘I’m sorry I might even cry. My one real fear is drowning. I could see there was a snake in the breathing hole,’ she shared, while Fatima told her that she ‘conquered’ her fear.
‘It’s the only time I’ve been like this about a phobia in my life,’ she added.
During last night’s episode, former boxer Amir Khan was the first celebrity to be eliminated by the camp.
‘This has been the craziest week I’ve ever had,’ Amir said before the vote took place cementing his exit.
The next morning, he stated that the vibe in camp ‘wasn’t the best’ since someone was departing the group.
When he heard out he’d been brought home, Amir was pleased at the possibility of FaceTiming his kids, whom he’d been missing a lot.
I’m A Celebrity… South Africa returns tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
