Jack Whitehall has been harsh in his assessment of The One Show’s studio, comparing the coffee table to “a junkie’s carpet.”
Over the last week, the 34-year-old comedian has been on the road promoting his new tour, Settle Down.
On Friday’s BBC show, he discussed the jokes that caused some friction with his girlfriend Roxy Horner, 31, explaining that she was happy to be the butt of his jokes, but their beloved poodle was off limits.
On Wednesday, Jack appeared on ITV’s This Morning, where he talked with hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
But, right at the start of their conversation, Jack had to express his admiration for a rather unexpected detail on the show’s set.
After explaining how his tour was motivated by his “becoming an adult, settling down, and becoming a little bit more mature,” Jack became sidetracked.

‘I feel myself becoming more middle aged,’ he said before noticing some coasters on a coffee table in front of him.
‘Can I say one thing as well, which I am really impressed about, because one trait that I find I am very impressed in myself as an adult, is my love of coasters.
‘It is nice to see finally a show that has coasters.’
He added: ‘I was at The One Show the other day and the state of the table, you would have thought, it was like a junkie’s carpet…and this, this is spotless.’
‘That’s what I like to see.’

Holly then added they took care to look after their belongings on stage, which made the presenters giggle.
‘I’m glad you noticed and appreciated this,’ she joked.
While Jack was uninterested in discussing his newfound adult love of décor, he did admit that he recently had to tone down some more mature sex jokes in his show.
After his girlfriend’s parents and extended family attended one of his shows, Jack described it as “horrendous,” and while he continued with his jokes, they were “more of a soft serve.”
‘I did take the edge off some of them’ he explained.
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC1. This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
