On Sunday night, Joey Essex went all-in on another Dancing On Ice routine, stripping down to skate in a pair of little blue glittering swimming trunks.
During props week, the Towie star and girlfriend Vanessa Bauer included a surfing board – and yet another kiss – into their act.
Joey and Vanessa were dressed for a day at the beach in matching sparkly swimwear, which meant just short shorts and matching blue socks for Joey!
Skating to DNCE’s Cake By the Ocean, Joey glided over the ice on his front, as well as ride it horizontally with Vanessa and show off his best front crawl arms as he sailed across the ice on one leg.
Continuing to fuel the relationship rumours, and following Vanessa’s embarrassing swerve when Joey sought to kiss her during their High School Musical performance last week, it was the pro who placed a smacker on his cheek this time.
Joey then completed the ‘gnarly’ dance by leaving a noticeable lipstick mark on his face.
Joey, 32, said after the concert, ‘We really just had the finest time of our lives.’
Last week, co-host Phillip Schofield couldn’t help but tease Joey when he moved in to kiss Vanessa at the end of their Disney-themed performance, in which they played Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez.
‘Nearly a little peck at the end there,’ Phil quipped after their skate, while Joey cheekily added: ‘Nearly. Our first kiss on live TV.’
The discussion left viewers perplexed and cringing, with daytime host Lorraine Kelly even taking a fun at it afterwards.
But, on Sunday, the couple received their highest score of the series, 36.5 out of 40 from judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill, and Christopher Dean.
‘That was your finest skate so far,’ Christopher informed the TV personality. Tonight, you appeared to be in command of your skates.’
‘That simply made me grin seeing you,’ Jayne added. You exuded confidence, which was admirable.’
The pair finished second on the leaderboard, trailing only gymnasts Nile Wilson and Olivia Smart, and advanced to next week’s semi-final with its newly announced double elimination.
Unfortunately, Siva Kaneswaran and Klabera Komini were in the skate-off again this week, but they were able to escape by unanimous judges’ decision, and it was Carley Stenson and Mark Hanretty who were eliminated.
Dancing On Ice continues on Sunday at 6:30pm on ITV1.
