John Fashanu, a former football player, was the first famous contestant to leave this year’s Dancing on Ice.
The ITV series debuted last weekend with a bang, and fans were instantly enthralled by the “greatest show on ice.”
To advance to the next round of the competition, six more celebrities hoped.
In an effort to escape the skate-off, Carley Stenson, Darren Harriot, The Vivienne, Mollie Gallagher, and John gave their debut performances.
The Love Island champion Ekin-Su, 28, was joined in the bottom two by the TV personality, 60, and his professional partner Alexandra Schauman tonight. Ekin-Su was in the bottom two after week one.
Ekin-Su and John skated to Ariana Grande’s No Tears Left To Cry during their brand-new performances, while John danced to Norman Greenbaum’s Spirit in the Sky.
Ekin-Su and her partner Brendyn Hatfield advanced to Musicals Week after receiving unanimous support from the judges, while John was the first to leave the competition.
Skate-offs are never simple, but Ashley Banjo said: “First of all, Ekin-Su and Brendyn offered us more skating content than anyone else.”
“Based on the skate-off and the skate-off alone, I’m going with Ekin-Su and Brendyn,” Oti Mabuse continued.
John jokingly responded, “Yes, I will carry on skating and who knows, maybe I’ll start teaching people,” when asked by hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby if he would continue to skate.
Immediately after John’s little journey, viewers congratulated him on Twitter, with one writing: “Really really well done @TheFash1988.” You have a lot to be extremely proud of.
Another said, “Oh, what a shame that John is leaving.”
The remaining 10 celebrities will skate for Movie Week on the next weekend’s episode, but who will be the final couple to leave the ice?
Dancing On Ice continues next Sunday at 6.30pm on ITV.
