Dani Dyer has chosen she is content with her place as a reality star and is content with her reality stardom rather than continuing in her father Danny Dyer’s acting career.
The 26-year-old formerly had dreams of working in Hollywood and even co-starred with her father in a couple films, including Vendetta and Run for Your Wife.
In her early twenties, she made her independent debuts in Bonded by Blood 2 and We Still Kill the Old Way before switching to reality television.
Her most recent role was that of a pregnant cab driver in EastEnders, who was hurried to the hospital by Mick (Danny) when her labour started unpredictably.
She stated, “I don’t think I’ll be acting again.”
After leaving the villa, some former Love Islanders want to swiftly shed the branding, but Dani is happy with the direction it’s led her.
‘I absolutely loved acting when I was younger. It was something that was so fun for me at first but then I took the Love Island route. I’m enjoying the route that I’ve gone down.’
Dani makes the following family member performing star prediction: “I think my sister will be the actress.” My sister will be the most successful of us all, we’ve always said.
No pressure for 16-year-old Sunnie!
Although Dani isn’t an actor anymore, her return to television comes thanks to the new trip programme Absolutely Dyer: Danny and Dani Do Italy.
Danny, 45, admits in the pilot episode that he’s not sure what his current work title is.
‘My dad is a man of many talents. I reassure him that he’s still an actor, but he’s also an amazing presenter. I’m his biggest fan and he’s mine. We guide and support each other when we need it. We’ve always given each other advice.’
The father and daughter travel to Italy in the four-part series aired on Channel 4.
The two are venturing outside of their comfort zones since, as they have stated, they don’t like to fly and prefer to relax with cocktails by the pool when they vacation.
But that’s definitely not what they get since in the first episode, the two go to an active volcano, eat tuna, and try squid fishing.
Dani’s two-year-old son Santiago was the third adventurer, although he stayed off camera.
Dani and Jarrod Bowen, who is her boyfriend, are now expecting twin girls. She is eager to witness the connection between the West Ham football star and her own father.
‘Honestly, my dad is my best friend in the world. I keep saying to Jarrod I can’t wait for him to have this relationship with our girls. I love my mom. My mom is like my sister. But with my dad I want to look after him, even though he’s older than me,’ Dani sweetly told us.
‘Working together was easy, it’s like working with a friend. He’s the naughty dad, and I’m the one trying to reign him in. When we got back from the trip I really missed him. I tried to give him a week’s break before I started popping ’round his house.’
Dani Dyer: Is This Anxiety, an E4 documentary, also stars Dani. which will discuss new mothers’ mental health and reveal her own struggle.
She even hinted at a second upcoming event this year.
‘It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. It was fun, but I can’t talk about it.’
But she will absolutely not be appearing on her dad’s programme, Scared of the Dark.
‘Oh my God, I couldn’t do it. I would be so scared. I think in that kind of environment you can never really know where you’re gonna be and how you’re gonna feel. I think anyone would have a little bit of a funny turn in there.
‘At least on Love Island we had some lights,’ she quips.
Dani also wants to do more than just collaborate with her father.
‘We’ve got to stop all that. People will think it’s favouritism if I go on it, but it’s a great show. I’ve been absolutely loving it. I’ve said to my dad, you’re smashing the presenting.’
Absolutely Dyer: Danny & Dani do Italy airs Sunday, April 23 at 9pm on E4.
