It has been disclosed why Denise Welch is taking a break from Loose Women, as she combines forces with Strictly Come Dancing stars.
The 65-year-old Coronation Street actress will join the cast of Celebrity Hunted after announcing her temporary departure from Loose Women.
Denise shared on Instagram: ‘Well on this day, on my 65th birthday, I want to thank you in advance for all the lovely messages and comments that I’ve received.
‘I’m going off on a little adventure for a couple of weeks so I’m going to be off here and off my phone.
‘I don’t quite know how I’m going to cope, but I’m going to give it a try, so don’t think I have disappeared.
‘It’s just a temporary little holiday and I’ll be back soon, so lots and lots of love.’
Denise, who is married to PR manager Lincoln Townley, continued: ‘I’m going to be with my hubby, so we’re both off on an adventure.’
While Denise remained coy over what adventures she’s going on, it has been confirmed to Metro.co.uk that Denise is one of the celebrity fugitives taking part in the next series, and that filming has begun.
Hunted sees contestants attempting to escape from an unknown starting location to an ‘extradition point’ which, if reached, grants them victory.
The fourth season of the programme was infamous for having no winner, as all contestants were ultimately captured; the Hunters were awarded the victory.
The main series premiered in 2015 and has thus far aired six seasons, with the most recent installment occurring in 2022, when two winning contestants escape to freedom.
The first episode of Celebrity Hunted broadcast in 2017, with Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran of The Wanted claiming victory.
The 2023 lineup included Strictly Come Dancing pro Katya Jones, former Olympic athlete Aimee Fuller, comedians and presenters of the Off Menu podcast Ed Gamble and James Acaster, and YouTuber Saffron Barker.
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV1, while Celebrity Hunted is available to watch on All4.
