Amy Walsh of Emmerdale burst into tears as she expressed her personal motivation for competing on Celebrity MasterChef.
The 36-year-old competed against fellow actor Michael Praed, Black Eyed Peas artist Apl.de.Ap, Dianne Buswell from Strictly Come Dancing, and Luca Bish from Love Island.
To advance to the next round, the contenders had to impress judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace with their dishes.
Amy, on the other hand, burst into tears when she revealed why she entered the TV programme.
Amy revealed: ‘I want to… oh god I’m going to get emotional.
‘I want to prove to myself I can do something good.
‘I don’t know why I’m crying!’
The mum-of-one went on: ‘I think you just lose your nerve and forget who you are a bit when you’ve been away from all that and then this opportunity came and I could have run a mile.’

‘I have been so out of the work game, I am normally in a tracksuit in the play pen with my baby 90% of the time eating baked potatoes because that’s easier!’
Boosting her confidence, Gregg replied: ‘I want to tell you right now, I’m impressed by you.’
Viewers at home also showed their support for the Tracy Metcalfe actress, despite her’mortifying’ gaffe of combining a tablespoon of sugar with a tablespoon of salt.
One said: ‘Loving Amy on #CelebrityMasterChef. She was always great as Tracey in #Emmerdale.’
‘Meanwhile Amy has swept them away. #CelebrityMasterChef SHE IS THRU,’ another said.
When pro dancer Dianne was removed, emotions ran high elsewhere on the show.

‘Dianne, honestly we hope you have enjoyed it,’ said Greg after John announced her departure.
‘I feel gutted to be the first one to go home.’
Struggling to hold back her tears she added: ‘I think eliminations get to me, I am used to them though but they never get easier.’
Fans showed their support for Dianne, with one penning: ‘Aww bless Dianne not getting through to the next round. She should be so proud herself though.’ [sic]
‘Ridiculous that Dianne has gone first,’ another seethed.
Celebrity MasterChef returns tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
