Bobby Brazier has revealed which Strictly Come Dancing star he turns to for emotional assistance after causing anxiety among viewers during Saturday’s live episode.
The EastEnders star, 20, and his dance partner Dianne Buswell, 34, dressed in matching striking red dresses and danced a tango to David Bowie’s Fashion.
The judges gave the couple a 30 total score for their week four performance, contrasting to rave remarks in prior weeks.
Viewers were quick to point out that both he and Dianne were ‘odd,’ and it wasn’t simply due of their height disparity, which has been attacked as impeding Bobby’s growth.
‘Bobby didn’t seem his usual happy self this week bless him, I hope he’s ok?’ wrote one fan on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Another said: ‘Something was really off with Bobby and Diane tonight, just felt like they were going through the motions #strictly.’
They were rescued from the terrible dance-off during the results broadcast on Sunday night, but his close friend, comedian Eddie Kadi, 40, and ‘newly-single’ pro Karen Hauer, 41, were not.
In a post-show interview with co-host Claudia Winkleman, the rising star claimed that his favourite part of the week was watching his fellow contestants’smash it’ during their routines from upstairs in the interview section, called the ‘Clauditorium’ earlier.
‘Especially Eddie as well. He was a real treat. Seeing everyone’s work come together and leaving it on the dance floor is special,’ Bobby added.
Claudia then mentioned how sad he must be feeling, given how well he and Eddie got along, to be forced to dance again, this time against Paralympian Jody Cundy and last year’s winner Jowita Przysta, who finally lost.
‘I’ve got a lot to say about Eddie, he’s such a sweetheart, he’s such a nice person to be around,’ Bobby said.
He then admitted: ‘Whenever I feel like I want to get something off my chest about training, Eddie’s the first person I send a voice message to.’
Dianne jokingly interjected with her own name when Bobby said ‘training’, with the youngster then quipping: ‘That Dianne is driving me nuts!’
Following their dance on Saturday night, Australian dancer Dianne was overcome with emotion and referred to Bobby as her “rock.”
‘He has just been a massive rock this week, so thank you,’ she praised before leaning in for a hug with him.
Bobby also said that he had been ‘so, so emotional all week’.
While some speculated about Dianne’s relationship with longstanding YouTuber boyfriend Joe Sugg, 32, who danced his way to the Strictly final with her in 2018, the couple quickly dispelled such allegations.
Dianne posted a video on her Instagram stories on Sunday showing Joe cutting a Sunday roast supper he’d made for them.
He then shared a photo of the dinner being proudly served, with Dianne’s face in the backdrop.
In the caption, he wrote: ‘“These are the best roast potatoes I’ve ever eaten in my life, Joe you are the best roaster of the potato the world’s ever seen. I love you so much more than I even did before!” @diannebuswell.’
Ready to agree, Dianne reposted and added: ‘It’s true. Best roasted potatoes I have ever had.’
Bobby turned to social media this week to praise his ‘loved coach’ and ‘big sister’ for their achievement.
‘My wonderful coach to learn from, friend to experience it all with, and big sister to drive loopy,’ Bobby wrote beside photographs of them in action and backstage.
‘Thank you for your votes ❤️.’
Dianne then responded: ‘me bestie 🫂 so proud of you love from COACH.’
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday and Sunday on BBC One and iPlayer.
