Heartstopper fans have gotten a sneak peek at the impending new season, and it’s already a smash.
When the Netflix series premiered this summer, it stole the hearts of people all across the world, making relative newbies like Kit Connor and Joe Locke overnight stars.
It’s been a rollercoaster ride for the show’s cast, who have attracted an army of fans who are happy to see a joyful and romantic adolescent drama focusing on LGBTQ+ young people.
After what seemed like an eternity, it was announced in April that Series 2 of the renowned programme will be available on the streaming service on August 3.
And today, fans can get a sneak glimpse at the famous drama’s opening sequence.
On Saturday, Netflix’s special live event Tudum broadcast the opening scene, which began with cute polaroid photographs of Charlie and Nick kissing before panning to Charlie waking up to a text from his lover.
He gets ready for school, messaging Nick the entire time with a huge grin on his face, and arrives at class to see Nick welcoming him with his hands over his eyes.
It’s pure delight, which is why people fell in love with it in the first place.
Tudum also disclosed the titles of the eight episodes, which are as follows: Out Family; Promise; Challenge; Heat; Truth/Dare; Sorry’ and Perfect.

Naturally, supporters went completely crazy, flooding Twitter with yelling, all-caps remarks, and joyful emoticons.
As one extremely non-dramatic fan wrote: ‘IM WALKING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.’
‘I can’t stop giggling this is so cute,’ another gushed, while one said they ‘cannot contain my excitement.’
‘August 3 can’t come quick enough,’ another agreed, while one warned they would be ‘UNBEARABLE’ once the series aired.
The young adult sitcom follows rugby boy Nick Nelson (Kit) and introverted youngster Charlie Spring (Joe) as they start a love connection while attending an all-boys grammar school.
They have no option but to keep things quiet since Charlie is being bullied and Nick has not yet come out.
The sitcom, which also starred Yasmin Finney and William Gao, was renewed for two more seasons due to its huge success.
Teasing series two, Yasmin – who is also set to star in Doctor Who – said there are ‘so many things that happen with [her character] Elle this season that you’re not ready for.’
‘I would say Elle is different in that she’s more confident. She surrounds herself with people that elevate her.’
Alice Oseman, the creator of the original Heartstopper comic books, has promised ‘wonderful’ scripts from lead star Kit.
Joe, another key actor, adding that his character is on a ‘journey’ this time.
‘His story’s a bit more mature.’
Heartstopper season 1 is available to stream on Netflix and season 2 lands on August 3.
