Helen Flanagan opened up about how she was dealing with the breakup of her engagement to footballer Scott Sinclair and claimed returning to I’m A Celebrity South Africa was a nice ‘distraction’.
Despite Scott proposing in 2018, the former Coronation Street actress, 32, divorced the professional footballer last July after 13 years together.
Helen remarked on her present life stage and how returning to the Ant and Dec jungle competition show helped her recover after her recent on-screen leave.
Helen admitted to taking part in the Australian version of the challenge when she was 22 years old: ‘It was a great distraction, definitely.
She went on to tell Lorraine on her ITV breakfast show about how the jungle gave her time to rediscover herself.
Helen said: ‘I kind of tried to throw myself into work and I feel like I’m in a stage in my life now where I’m like: “what does Helen want?”

‘Not mum Helen or you know… what do I actually want to do so I feel like I’m in that nice stage where I’m finding myself again.’
When questioned about how she was co-parenting with Scott, the star shared: ‘They’re with their dad in Dubai so I’ve not got my kids for weeks it’s really weird so it is actually quite strange when you’re not with them.
‘I’m really close to Scott’s mum like we’re really, really, really close, were good friends and we always have been so that makes everything a bit easier.’

Elsewhere in the talk, Lorraine remarked on Helen’s breast enlargement surgery and quipped that it was ‘money well spent’.
She praised the former soap opera star for being open and honest about her surgery, and she complimented Helen on how well she looked.
Lorraine began: ‘You did have a wee boob job, money well spent Helen Flanagan! They look absolutely fantastic.’
The star giggled as she replied: ‘I think it was just so nice for my confidence and I like to be open about it. I’m so much more confident now.’
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
